Age range: 4 – 6 years old
What is school readiness?
School is the place of learning, friendships, and connection. Being ready for school includes routine, socialising, skills for everyday such as writing, cutting and completing tasks when getting ready for school.
Aim:
To prepare for school in a fun and supportive environment. To ease the transition into a school environment. Organising and planning for the school day ahead. Getting organised for school and packing school bag.
Goals:
To develop confidence and independence with school tasks
To improve/develop self-care tasks
To improve fine motor skills such as opening a lunch box, using scissors and prewriting skills.
Age range: Kindy to Year 6
What are handwriting skills?
Handwriting is the ability to write letters, number, and words on a surface with a pen or pencil from left to write. It also includes understanding uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and correct spelling. Writing by hand assists with learning, problems solving skills and creativity.
Aim:
To improve letter formation and speed of writing. To write words and letters with little errors in a fun and social setting.
Goals:
To improve handwriting technique, including pencil grip and control.
To improve hand strength.
To promote natural structure or words, letters, numbers and shapes.
To enable ease with the skill of handwriting.
Age range: Primary School
What are fine motor skills?
Fine motor skills are tasks or activities in which you use the small muscles of your hands and wrists to make movements. These skills are important in activities such as writing, cutting, and opening your lunch box, tying your shoelaces, arts, craft and much more.
Aim:
To improve hand strength, finger manipulation and coordination and other underlying components of fine motor skills through a fun and social setting.
Goals:
To be able to grip and manipulate objects.
To be able to use both hands for as task.
To increase hand strength.
To coordinate the thumb and one finger to pick an object up rather than using the whole hand.
Age range: Years 5 to 12
What are social skills?
Social skills are all about interacting and communicating with other people. This is important with our friends, family, carers and at school.
Aim:
To express ideas, interests, and emotions. To listen to other people while they are talking and take turns sharing information. To learn about the different ways we can communicate.
Goals:
Expand on our knowledge of communicating in different ways
Explore ways of sharing our interests and actively listening to others
Express and identify our emotions.

Gross motor skills involve the coordination and control of large muscle groups, enabling activities such as walking, running, throwing, kicking, jumping and balancing. These skills play a vital role in a child’s growth and independence. Our gross motor group aims to increase your child’s confidence with these skills.
Age range: Paediatrics and Parents
Social skills and emotional regulation – Parent and child groups
Learn, discover and explore all things social skills and emotional regulation. We aim to empower both parents and children with practical strategies, engaging activities and useful resources on social skills and emotional regulation. While your child engages in several activities you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and ask questions regarding this topic.
Fine motor and handwriting – Parent and child groups
Assist your child with their fine motor and handwriting skills by attending this parent and child group. We will provide both parents and children with practical strategies, engaging activities and useful resources to develop fine motor and handwriting skills. While your child engages in several activities you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and ask questions regarding this topic.
Age range: Teens/Young adults
Life Skills Group for teens and young adults
These life skills are some ways that help introduce teenagers and young adult into a world of independence and employment. Practicing skills such as these will help prepare them for the transition from school into jobs and living on their own. Job skills and complex communication skills are skills we will practice in these groups to prepare for applications and job interviews.

Life Skills Group for Paediatrics
This group aims to foster and develop independence, communication and activities of daily living in a supportive environment. Self-care, problem solving, community and social interactions are examples of areas that are focused on during this group.
Age range: primary school age

Sensory Fun Group
Our sensory fun group aims to stimulate children’s senses in multiple ways in order to engage them and support their learning and development. We understand that everyone learns differently this means that different senses may play a different part in learning for everyone.
Children will require various amounts and types of sensory input. Some children may become overwhelmed by certain types of sensory input other may seek additional sensory input to calm and regulate their body and emotions. In the sensory fun group sessions, we will explore children’s sensory sensitivities and needs to encourage self-regulation.
30-60min sessions in our sensory gym
This will allow your child to participate in a range of activities including sensory swings, climbing gym and obstacle courses.
60 min Session
These sessions are targeted towards your child’s goals.
