OUR SERVICES
Our Occupational Therapy Services include:
Functional capacity assessments and reports
A functional assessment can be completed by our occupational therapists to determine what care and support you need. The occupational therapist is able to provide a report if required.
Minor home modifications
This includes modifications such as ramps, grab rails and step modifications.
Assistive technology prescriptions and applications
Our occupational therapists can assess and prescribe assistive technology, such as manual and power wheelchairs and mobility scooters to assist you to complete your activities of daily living.
Pressure Injury Prevention
Our occupational therapists are able to assess your risk of developing a pressure injury and make recommendations on how to reduce your risk of developing a pressure injury. We can also prescribe assistive technology, such as pressure cushions.
Supported Independent Living and Specialist Disability Accommodations Reports
Our occupational therapists are able to assess your need for Specialist Disability Accommodation or Supported Independent Living and provide reports to the National Disability Insurance Scheme for funding.
Individual therapy
Our occupational therapists and allied health assistants provide individual sessions focused on your goals, such as emotional regulation, falls prevention and energy conservation.
Group therapy
Our occupational therapists and allied health assistants provide group sessions focused on your goals, such as handwriting, social skills and life skills.
Occupational Therapy Reports – our occupational therapists are able to assist with reports for parties, such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme.Book into our Group Programs Here
School based therapy
Our team of allied health assistants and occupational therapists provide individual and group sessions at many local schools.
Falls prevention
Our occupational therapists are able to provide assessments and recommendations to reduce your risk of falls.
WHO WE WORK WITH
Our clients
Age isn’t a barrier for us. We are qualified – and very happy – to work with people of all ages and it’s one of our big points of difference. It means we can help people as young as toddler,
all the way through to retirees and the elderly.
Our partners
We have strong connections with other community support groups and specialist services who may not have the expertise to provide their own OT services. Their clients or participants may also have been referred to see an OT. They need the reassurance and comfort that their clients are being cared for, as if their own.
Our suppliers
A key part of the OT approach is to establish if and/or where assisted technology and equipment is required to enhance a client’s life. To do this, we have built trusted relationships with a range of leading equipment suppliers to understand and personally recommend the right equipment for our clients’ needs.
WHAT WE DO
At Shoalhaven Occupational Therapy we provide services for clients of all ages, who may have a range of diagnoses from physical, cognitive, or sensory challenges.
Our team of therapists have experience in assisting clients with a range of diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular accident, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, amputations, and vision impairments.
We ensure our clients are always given the right amount of time to be heard and assessed for us to help improve their daily lives as best we can.
We also understand it is often difficult to make it to the clinic, so we offer flexible ways to see our clients either at their home, school or even outside at a local park.

Our services are provided in settings that best meet a person’s needs – at home, work or school or we can see you in our Clinic in Nowra. We also provide Telehealth (phone or video) appointments if required.

Home Visits
We aim to enhance your safety and independence, helping you to keep an active lifestyle. We aim to keep you and your family members in their own home and community.
School Visits
Our Occupational Therapists can come and visit schools to observe children’s participation in the classroom.
Mobile Clinic
Shoalhaven Occupational Therapy provides a mobile service to clients in the Shoalhaven.
